Ah yes, celery. The vegetable that pairs well with chicken wings but may not be the first item always added to the grocery list. The craze exponentially became popular when celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Miranda Kerr, Pharrell Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elle Macpherson and others endorsed the healing powers of the rooty vegetable.

 

Sixteen ounces first thing in the morning is the ideal amount recommended as the first nourishment of the day. For the best results, celery should be the sole ingredient in the juice while other added ingredients have been said to transform the miracle-working compounds in the celery and change the overall effect even if the added ingredients are healthy. Additionally, no other food or drink should be consumed 30 minutes afterwards to fully allow the compounds to flush out the body.

 

I decided to hop on the bandwagon and drink celery juice for 12 days in a row to see what all the hype was about and if the rumors lived up to their name. From my experience, I can frankly admit that I not only felt energized and motivated all day, but it also helped direct my cravings towards healthier options for the rest of my meals. I felt as though if I started with something healthy, I might as well keep the streak going.
